Design Academy Aruba can only accommodate a certain number of students and will conduct their own selection processes to decide which students to admit. This selection processes consider your drawings kills, your ability of creative thinking, your level in Dutch and English and also other relevant competences like teamwork, motor-skills and the motivation to learn and grow in the creative field. You als must have your Mavo degree or higher.
Enrollment program
You can apply for the enrollment program until 8 June. Participating in the selection procedure for a limited enrollment program is free of charge. The enrollment program wil take place on 15, 22 or 29th of June.
During this enrollment program you have to present your portfolio and work on an exercise which will stimulate your creativity and ability to create. With the outcome of the whole enrollment program we can determine if you match the educational program.

* Laptops/ Macbooks and Ipads are very important in our working field. The minimum recommended laptop is a MacBook Pro. The processor speed and RAM may change periodically, you are advised to view the Apple Store for current models and educational discount prices;
The minimum specs recommend for academic year 2023 are: Apple M2 processor, Minimum 32 GB unified memory, Minimum 512 GB SSD storage (1TB or Icloud account recommended), AppleCare Protection Plan strongly recommended
We do understand that these devices are very expensive. So we don’t expect you to have one by the beginning of the schoolyear. Together we will create a personal plan so you will be able to purchase your own laptop during your education.
Scholarships
Talented students who can’t effort this education can try to apply for a scholarship. Please mention your application for a scholarship in the application form of the enrollment program.
De toelatingseisen voor middenkaderopleiding, ABO-niveau 4, zijn: • Deelnemers die een ABO-niveau 2/ABO-niveau 3 diploma hebben of, • Deelnemers die een mavo-diploma hebben of, • Deelnemers die een bewijs hebben dat ze leerjaar 3 havo goed hebben doorlopen worden toegelaten aan het postsecundaire beroepsonderwijs. • Jongeren tussen 16 en 18 jaar, die voldoen aan bovenstaande eisen, kunnen toegelaten worden tot een opleiding in het volwassenenonderwijs mits het bevoegd gezag in samenspraak met de inspectie van het onderwijs goedkeuring verleend. Het gaat om jongeren die door een of andere reden geen toegang meer krijgen tot het initieel postsecundaire beroepsonderwijs of het regulier algemeen voortgezet onderwijs. • Middels een EVC-procedure (Eerder Verworven Competentie procedure) kan besloten worden om deelnemers toe te laten aan een opleiding of een specifiek onderdeel van een opleiding om een certificaat te halen voor een deelkwalificatie.
